State-of-the-art building completes Elm Street Campus, expands capabilities, and supports continued workforce growth

MILFORD, NH –  Hitchiner Manufacturing Co., Inc. hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of its new 57,000-square-foot Shared Services Operations facility, completing the company’s Elm Street Campus and signaling the next phase of its long-term growth strategy.

The new facility, designed and built by PROCON’s fully integrated design-build team, consolidates value-added services previously spread across several buildings. Bringing these operations together improves workflow efficiency, enhances quality control, and supports Hitchiner’s expanding aerospace and commercial programs.

“This facility is representative of reinvesting in the business to grow opportunities for our customers, our employees, and our community,” said John Morison IV, President and Secretary of Hitchiner Manufacturing. “It reflects our strategy to expand our capabilities, strengthen our value stream, and build on Hitchiner’s legacy of innovation.”

The Shared Services Operations building completes Hitchiner’s Elm Street Campus, which now supports the full value stream for finished investment-casting-based aerospace components. The integrated structure allows the company to respond more quickly to customer needs and advances its long-term growth strategy in global markets.

Design features in the building support safety, collaboration, and operational flexibility, providing space that can adapt to Hitchiner’s evolving equipment and technology requirements.

“By consolidating these services into a single state-of-the-art building, we are able to operate smarter, support innovation, and continue delivering world-class solutions to customers around the world,” Morison said.

Hitchiner partnered with PROCON to design and construct the facility, which required detailed coordination to support specialized equipment and complex operational needs.

“Partnering with Hitchner on this transformative project has been both fun and energizing,” said John Stebbins, CEO of PROCON. “They are such a dynamic company, so they've been a great match for our fully integrated design-build process.  From day one, our team worked closely to understand Hitchiner’s vision and the intricate requirements of this facility. The result is a highly integrated, purpose-built space that will support their growth and reinforce their leadership in advanced manufacturing for years to come.

For nearly 80 years, Hitchiner has been at the forefront of investment casting technology, providing high-quality components to the aerospace, automotive, defense, and energy industries. The company’s success is rooted in its people, and Hitchiner is dedicated to fostering an environment where employees can grow, learn, and achieve their full potential.

Workforce expansion is a key component of the project. Hitchiner currently has 50 to 70 job openings across manufacturing, engineering, operations, supervision, and support functions. The company offers extensive on-the-job training through its Center for Excellence, tuition assistance, and clear pathways for advancement.

“You can start on the shop floor and work your way into leadership roles here,” Morison said. “People who embrace continuous improvement, take initiative, and work collaboratively thrive at Hitchiner.”
