Phil Germain
Senior Vice President of Preconstruction and Estimating
A dedicated PROCON employee for 30 years, Phil leads the estimating team with expertise in conceptual estimating, value engineering, scope development, and competitive bidding. He and his team collaborate closely with PROCON’s design group from initial concept to contract signing, ensuring cost control and subcontractor management to keep the final GMP within or below the Owner’s budget.
Beyond his professional role, Phil is deeply committed to his community as a Youth Wrestling Coach for the past 25 years. His dedication extends to late nights and weekends, but the reward is immeasurable—watching young athletes grow, mature, and transition into young adults, knowing he played a small but meaningful role in their journey.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
“The “Tap, Tap, Tap” of furry feet, and a cold, wet, canine nose. Nothing better except that morning kiss from my beautiful wife of 41 years; that’s the topper!”
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
“I really enjoy working with my team and watching them grow to their full potential as lead estimators, I come in each day knowing that together we can accomplish anything and that we depend on each other to make it happen. Being part of the evolution of a building, from its embryonic concept stage into a fully designed and functional facility is super exciting.”
What do you enjoy doing for fun?
“Fun with the family at Camp, re-creating and re-building things, giving them a second life, working on antique autos, and gardening, to name a few…”
Tell us about your family:
“I have three amazing children and three wonderful grandchildren. My children couldn’t be more different—from their lifestyles to their careers—making our family dynamic both exciting and diverse. The grandkids live close by, and we see them every week, sometimes twice a week for our cherished “Waffle Wednesdays.” And my oldest grandson is now learning to drive!? Crazy!”
